    Exceptional

Very nice room with a view of snow-capped mountains, and much birdlife on view from the balcony. No coffee maker. Electric heater that was needed. Next to the platform at Ollantaytambo which was noisy from 5am, but the birds were just as noisy. Breakfast pretty limited and coffee slow - coming from their cafe on the platform! Reception lovely. Everyone in bed by 9! Much nicer to stay here than in Aguas Calientes. Note: you need to buy a multi ticket or pay about £20 each to walk up the local 'wonder' and the rip off ticket for Machu Picchu (128 sol 3.75/£) does not include the extra 25 sol to walk up huayna pichu and look down on M.P. The bus from A.C. is now $19 each - youngsters could walk it - 1km downhill 1km vertical.

Got a taxi from cusco for 120 sol. Taxi quotes started at $85,then 80,70,60,and effectively 50. There are mini-buses that are cheaper but cramped.Takes about 2 hours.Cusco pretty uninspiring - an afternoon would do it. Avoid Aguas Calientes if poss.

    Fabulous

Food at Mayo was excellent. Room had a good bed and warm decoration.

Bathroom was too small. Pillow was too thin.

location at the train station was great, especially since we had quite a few heavy bags so didn't have to go far! restaurant was also delicious, had a wonderful dinner and breakfast there!

some people might not enjoy the sound of trains running throughout the day...but for us it was all part of the experience and we didn't mind it at all.

Wonderful surprise within the train station. A great place to stay.

Aditional 8% is charged upon checkout with no previous warning (it is supposed to be a forced tip for the hotel personnel)

Great location for your trip to Machu Picchu. The food was fabulous! And take a sauna after a long day of hiking in the ruins.

Large room and very comfortable, good restaurant and excellent breakfast. As the hotel is at the train station getting the Machupichu train is easy. The staff and owner are very helpfull and speak good English.

    Fabulous

The staff was really helpful with our reservation for Machupicchu tickets. The room was cosy and opening on the beautiful garden populated by hummingbirds and adorable kittens. There was no buffet for breakfeast but a choice of scrambled eggs on toasts or the world's largest pancake with maple syrup. The albergue is in the train station, making it easier to board the train for Aguas calientes. The restaurant served great lunch and dinner with nice folkloric music at night. Try the quinoa taboule.

The hotel did not have my reservation but hopefully still had a room left at a cheaper rate. Make sure they have received your reservation as this seemed to happen a lot for Booked.net customers. Nevertheless the room happened to be really nice and great value for money. The sauna was tiny and too 'artisanal'.

Actually not much except for the gardens.

Our triple room (assigned to us while our request was for a double) was not worth the price paid and I wish Booked.net or my credit card company could forfeit payment. Room may be suitable for some backpackers wanting to share but even when we were that young, did not stay in such a poor, dirty and uncomfortable place. Photos will follow when we return home showing the dire conditions of room.

The location was unusual and convenient, and adorable place with wonderful people. The food was creative and accomplished with a wonderful presentation. The rooms were lovely and the entire hotel had charming character. The location and little town had much history to see and quaint stores and eateries.

Location was great, a very short distance to the main square and right beside the train station. It was very quiet and peaceful. The room and facilities were lovely and really clean. The food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was gorgeous and really fresh. All the staff were really friendly and professional.

Location relative to train to Machu Picchu is unbeatable. Great and reasonable cost for dinner. Included breakfast was great.

Got some minor crap for 1 of 3 of us missing the Andean Immigration Card, in the end the staff solved the issue satisfactorily.

This was our favorite place that we stayed at during our trip - good food, super nice people, little sauna, beautiful garden - nice vibes all around.

We ran out of water one day - but it was a citywide issue not the fault of the hotel - and we were discounted for this inconvenience - it wasn't that big of a deal
